After an unsynchronized shock, resuming CPR with minimal delay in compressions, has been shown to have the best outcomes.  When in doubt, compress!

Alcoholics are frequently found to have low magnesium levels, as alcohol often causes increased urinary excretion of magnesium.  Calcium, iron, and zinc are also frequently low in alcoholics.  Low magnesium can frequently lead to Torsades.

AHA states that pulse / rhythm checks should be done every 2 minutes. This allows for minimal interruption in compressions.

Early defibrillation has been shown to be the single most important therapy in terms of survival in cardiac arrest.

Compressions for adult CPR should be 2 inches deep, not 1 inch.
