  1. CV Disease is the number one cause of death worldwide. It is, therefore, important to know how to prevent CV disease. Modifiable risk factors include:  smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, high cholesterol, stress. Non-modifiable risk factors include age, sex, genetics, race. More than 650,000 americans die from CV disease each year. 
  1. Ways of preventing CV disease include eating healthy, exercising 30 minutes each day, minimizing stress, avoiding smoking. 
  1. Atherosclerosis is caused by the building up of plaque inside arteries. It is composed of fatty substances, cholesterol, fibrin, calcium. This can partially or totally block the flow of blood through an artery in the brain and heart. This can lead to a stroke or heart attack.
